Nine posts from the first nine days of activity on a spiffing new Instagram account. With one more snowman to appear each day before the end of this year.
That is James’ avowed intent. Mind you, he is under the impression that 365 snowmen will fulfil his ambition. Who wants to message him and cut him in on the knowledge that this is a leap year and he has an extra day to fill with his creativity!?
At the moment each snowman is a very exclusive limited edition of one. I guess that James will stockpile the collection and auction the lot for a deliciously obscene amount when all is complete on New Year’s Eve 2020.
I’m already hooked by the daily prospect of such meticulously modelled and fondly formed FIMO. History, film, music and all sorts of cultural references are clearly in the mix already. There will be quirky invention in store but no guarantee of truly fun-filled distraction from the darkness of our 2020 world. James’ small daily diversion is a fine prospect all the same.
If anyone tries to muscle in on the snowscape under construction here by offering their own versions even the poorest of Poirots among us will be able to identify the copycat. Only a James Snowriginal will have his fingerprints all over it!
It’s early days for this idea. I hope I’ve piqued your interest enough to follow the journey along with me.
Of course it would be horribly inappropriate if I didn’t make an important declaration of interest here - James is just one of two of our much-loved, highly-talented sons.
Hey. Maybe next December will see a few new figures romping around with the ‘Snow Babies’ which our boys gave to their Mum over many childhood Christmases.
